小南在一次醉酒后误入捕梦猎人老李的捕梦网，意外吸收了百年梦灵，二人一同前往画梦学院求助，试图引出梦灵，但没想到小南竟是无梦之人，老李不得不收小南为徒，传授捕梦之道，在经过笔墨纸砚四位老师的教导下，小南继承了老李衣钵，老李却突然消失。小南寻找老李来到妙笔画廊，成为保安，在这里，他遇见了大师姐千木子、二师兄水淼淼、三师兄火焱焱等伙伴，过起了妙想天开的愉快生活，却不知道有一股邪恶势力越靠越近，小南和伙伴必须对抗邪恶势力，学习如何成为一名画捕双修的梦师。
