女舞者被斩首抛尸的案件早已传遍全国。五年过去了，案件杳无音讯，但女舞者的头颅至今下落不明。家庭破裂后，身为恐怖小说作家的娜娜急需一间廉价的出租房。正因如此，她租了一间廉价的房间，过去五年来，她带着孩子也一直住在那里。娜娜一直感到不安，房间里不断传来一个女人痛苦的哭喊声，她要求砍下自己的头颅，这提醒着她并非孤身一人。娜娜和其他任何进入房间的人都会被那些开始出现的鬼魂吓坏。附近房间里也有三个人长大，但他们死得非常惨。有些人撞到了大东西，有些人从楼梯上摔了下来。大多数死者都在监狱里。娜娜的视力越来越清晰，她能从头到脚看清那个女鬼的模样。因为娜娜的老板因为斩首案把她解雇了，她开始调查，并确定这里就是鬼魂的死处。娜娜想走却走不了。如果她找不到鬼魂的头，她的女儿就会被斩首。
