大傩祭礼是传承数千年的宫廷祭礼，祈福民众平安幸福。后失传。流坑先祖董敦逸带回祭礼后，为防再次失传，规定凡选为大傩女子终身不得嫁人。身为大傩的董春女（李金铭 饰），成长于上世纪20年代，在进步思潮的影响下，她突破封建思想约束，放弃大傩嫁给平民元德昌（宋星翰 饰）。之后被军匪强占为妻。母亲为此被沉江淹死、董氏大宗祠也被焚烧。董春女为寻初心，落发为尼。虽命运多舛，但董春女仍坚守着大傩祭礼，使得这一民族文化瑰宝在新中国焕发出新的生命力。
故事的背景设置在 1969 年。伊里亚斯（欧格斯·卡拉亚尼斯 Yorgos Karayannis 饰）是一名10 岁的雅典男孩，非常喜欢天文学和凡尔纳的小说。伊里亚斯十分崇拜他的父亲。他父亲是一名旅游推销员，在一次商务旅行中意外死于一场交通事故。伊里亚斯的父亲在离开前曾答应及时赶回家和他一起看登月的直播，他的意外死亡让整个家庭陷入悲痛。但伊利亚却拒绝接受这个事实坚信爸爸还活着，于是他臆造了一个想像世界。 他和同伴们分享科幻故事， 甚至以爸爸的名义写信给他祖母。他一人分饰两角，好像他父亲依然在他身边。 伊里亚斯的母亲和他的教父一直想把他拉回现实，于是他们带他去度假。
