　　作家Morlar被发现在家中遇害，凶手极其残忍，用一尊雕像打爆了他的头。正当警长Brunel和助手Duff在案发现场取证时，他们惊讶的发现Morlar的尸体突然开始上下起伏——它正在急促的喘息。医生发现，虽然没有脉搏，但Morlar的大脑仍十分活跃，似乎有什么东西在阻止它死去

　　这个故事是根据小说利亚海格科恩这幅他出生后的婴儿死亡57小时和父母试图回到他们以前的生活和努力恢复常态了为自己和两个孩子。

　　该片讲述省台女记者白子衿到消防部队采访消防官兵转隶的事宜，同时，她也想在这个支队找到曾在大火中救过自己的“父亲”。而她采访的对象——教导员赵建成，正是“父亲”以前的部下。
　　此刻的赵指导员也即将脱去这身“橄榄绿”，他十分迷茫，甚至一度想要逃避。然而，行为上的逃避只是暂时的，军人的使命却从心底提醒着他肩负的责任。在昔日战友的墓前，他想找到该如何面对这一切的答案。但是，这里只有沉默的丰碑。而此时，子衿的“父亲”大队长来了……
