大业年间，醉心武学的李元霸得知皇都大兴将办比武大会，兴冲冲赶来，顺便探望父亲李渊和姐姐猗兰，不料刚进城便遇到刀客拦截，更与一蒙面高手过招，后来李元霸发现，对方竟是许久未见、亲如兄长的师兄宇文成都。这也是宇文成都与猗兰第一次见面，他自此对她难以忘怀，因为这个看似温婉的女子，一上来便给了他记耳光。李渊近来很是心烦，原来大兴城内暗流涌动，李渊既想扳倒奸相宇文化及，又得小心应对杨广，因为有人预言：李姓之人将得天下。李元霸看似懵懂，其实只是抗拒成人世界的尔虞我诈，留恋单纯的生活。但是宇文成都已变成了城府极深的野心家。阴谋接踵而来，父亲入狱，猗兰惨死，李元霸终于决定，要用自己的拳头和智谋，营救父亲，为猗兰报仇！

　　精神错乱的15岁少女任人欺凌，背后隐藏着不为人知的悲惨身世,经过江边的张，发现一15岁少女目不转睛望着他，进而将他认作是哥哥而紧跟在后，起初他只觉少女精神异常而任意的欺凌，随着时日，渐渐发现常保沉默而显自闭的少女原来有个非常痛苦的一段过去……
　　影片根据作家崔尹的小说改编，以韩国光州5.18时期为时代背景。谈到创作意图，导演张善宇说：“故事最吸引我的地方就是1980年5月的光州。当时建立了很多拘禁违反戒严令‘犯人’的监狱。街头活报剧运动也十分活跃。这样一个特殊的时期应该用一部电影来呈现。”

珍妮从亡师手中接过歌剧《莎乐美》导演一职，在保留原剧神髓之余，亦希望加入自己笔触。彩排期间，随着与台前幕后在艺术创作上的矛盾冲突升温，个人情感纠结及童年阴影亦悄然入侵。珍妮在七层纱舞之悲剧中，瞿然发现自己身影，决意还这被蹂躏、被妖魔化女子以人性感温，并拾回创作与人生自主。将刚亲自执导的斯特劳斯歌剧信手移师到电影舞台，伊高扬把王尔德笔下莎乐美的悲剧，层层变奏出现代性别政治下女性复杂的心理写照。

　　雷蒙（贾维尔•巴尔登 Javier Bardem 饰）在一次跳海运动中出了意外，全身瘫痪。原本英俊壮健的他要在煎熬中度过余生。他忍受着常人无法理解的痛苦中过活了26年，已经无法领会到活着的意义。他一再申请安乐死，却无法获准。他请来律师朱莉娅（贝兰•鲁达 Belén Rueda 饰），这个女人在与雷蒙的相处中慢慢认同了他的观点，她不幸也身患绝症，二人更加惺惺相惜。朱莉娅承诺帮雷蒙出版诗集后，就和他一同赴死。
　　有一个少妇知道了雷蒙的经历，力劝他不要放弃生命，并深深爱上这个不幸的人。然而，这一切都无法把雷蒙从瘫痪的煎熬中重生过来。然而他还等着朱莉娅一起告别这个世界。

　　本片由克里欧·巴纳德自编自导，影片改编自罗斯·特瑞美2010年的小说，故事围绕一对力图摆脱过往家庭伤痛的兄妹展开。
