　　Desdemona lives on an isolated island with her strange family: her father Mario, her stepmother Dulcinea and her mentally challenged sister Paulova. As the only inhabitants on the island loneliness and desolation engulf all members of her family. Desdemona tries to ward off her boredom by taking long walks along the beach or engaging in acts of self-gratification. She often tries to seduce her own father Mario to engage in acts of a sexual nature. Their daily routine is interrupted by the arrival (by boat) of a robust male stranger who brings friction into Desdemona's family.

　　Different Drummers is based on a true story about two unusual boys in Spokane, Washington in the mid 1960s. In this more innocent time, when body builder Jack Lalanne ruled the airwaves, the two heroes, a couple of elementary school students, make a bold attempt to triumph over mortality through friendship. Eleven year old David is slowing down and is now wheelchair-bound by muscular dystrophy, while Lyle can't stop speeding up. Back then, he was referred to as having a condition called MDB (Minimal Brain Dysfunction) but today he would be diagnosed with "Attention Deficit Disorder." Lyle wants more than anything to get David out of his wheelchair and running again, and he concocts a wild scheme involving a science project, some firemen, drummers, the school principal, a cop and a hand-walk across the school gymnasium, among other things. 　　讲的是大学生李焰到社区实习，有一社区帮教对象是一个穿着怪异，因盗窃罪刚走出监狱的十七八岁的女孩，她的父母离婚了，爸爸经常醉酒且经常打她。李焰和她接触后把她当朋友看待，帮助她找事做，并赢得雇主的信任，雇主还教她学会做家务。她再次遭到父亲的打骂后不敢回家，李焰把她留在办公室过夜，结果李焰的同事的钱丢了，怀疑是她偷的，她又一次被拘留。李焰一方面和她的父母沟通，另一方面帮她找到了钱不是她偷的证据，原来她身上的钱是卖盗版光碟赚来的，同事的钱也是放错了位置找到了，李焰把她带到大学校园里投篮，并告诉她自己的追求，鼓励她生活应该有目标，在追求目标的同时你会感觉生活很充实。后来李焰在工作中碰到了困难要退却时，换掉怪异发型的她反过来用李焰以前说过的话鼓励她，在李焰和同事的努力下问题得到很好的解决。她也得到了父母的关爱，找到了工作，李焰也最终留在社区工作。

　　Rabiye Kurnaz is someone you might generally call an ordinary woman, except that she is a real dynamo. Taking care of her children and much more, she is the one running the show in her terraced house in Bremen. Shortly after the attacks of September 11, 2001, her son Murat is accused of terrorism and is (one of the first) shipped off to Guantanamo prison camp. This marks the beginning of a journey into the heart of world politics for this resolute German-Turkish woman. Together with human rights lawyer Bernhard Docke, whom she soon has completely on her side (like almost everyone around her), she battles for the release of her son – using her very own brand of self-taught English – all the way to the Supreme Court in Washington, D.C.
　　Cologne-based comedienne, author, presenter and much more Meltem Kaptan is the perfect fit for Andreas Dresen’s special talent for combining explosive topics (in this case based on actual events) and the everyday concerns of the average citizen. Kaptan’s, or rather Rabiye’s, performance is overwhelming, and not just for the lawyer (played by Alexander Scheer) who quickly becomes a friend. A portrait of a passionate woman who holds the steering wheel of her beloved vehicle as firmly in her hand as she does the reins in this turbo-charged film.

A well educated and humble teacher arrives in a new city and at a new job in the pre-revolutionary Iran. He falls in love with a hardworking underprivileged young woman that nurses her very old mother and raises her young brother. In an environment where commitments and social problems often stand in the way between people and their dreams.
